Interests: For years now, I have found that sword fighting is a immensely strong passion for me....one that is impossible to put down. Broad-sword, some rapier work, and cutlass have been my favorite areas. Recently I have begun training with the katana, and studying Kendo. I am currently a blue belt in Bushido and have begun Aikido. It is my hope that I will achieve mastery in at least two forms. I also backpack, rock-climb, and love the outdoors. Other than physical interests, I am a bookworm. Once the duty day is done, I am beneath the trees with a book or wandering the aisles of Barnes and Noble. Yahweh is my all time favorite author, with Tolkien coming in as second. C.S. Lewis also graces my shelves, I find his writings most extraordinary. I can ramble about authors all day, or I can finish talking about my interests. Besides swords, martial art forms, and books, I can be found in the shop with a good piece of oak, ash, or maple in my hand, crafting it into whatever my mind finds suitabl

I just finished beating Spider-Man 2 the game for XBOX....I give it my full endorsement. The game is so well designed that just about anything can be used to swing, bounce, jump, wall-crawl off of, and the swinging around New York city in blue and red tights is amazingly fun. Anyway, after beating the storyline for it, and I was placed back on a rooftop with a new mission of gaining a mind-blowing amount of experience to complete the objectives, a little notice flashed in the corner of the screen. It read, new award received: Hero. For someone who has been playing this game for going on two weeks, it was heart-warming to see no doubt, but it struck something inside. John Eldredge calls it essential to a man's heart: to be the hero. That is exactly what I want to be. I want to be the knight in shining armor to Elizabeth, I want to make a difference in every single person's life I meet. And the only way to do that is to live fully from the heart that God has created inside you, putting yourself last, God first, and others between. To follow the passions that God has given you....to TRULY care for everyone around you. My thoughts are still swirling, and my point may be coming across unclearly, but I know for certain that each of us is caught up in something bigger than us, that each man and woman is a hero in this life....a hero to someone.God created us in His image, just ponder how great a hero our Lord is.....

Alright guys, every one of you knows the trials we face on a daily basis, and the fierce battle that wages that we can't see, but certainly feel. We all fall at some point, we're human, but one thing I find SO amazing is the way God looks at us even after the fact. I'm talking about sin in general.....anything that we do that dishonors the Lord, and feels like we just dumped tar over our white armor. Yet God never sees that due to the sacrifice Christ made. In fact, God wipes us clean, making our armor to shine once more, picking up our sword, placing it in our hand, and saying, "Come, I am your shield, and your deliverance." Then when we charge into the fray, fighting with Christ, keeping Him as our strength and the battle is won as if the enemy was never as powerful as it seemed. Today was one of those days, when God speaks to you, letting your eyes see clearly, how things should be. Today was a really good day. Battles were won, and God showed me great things. I just want to let all the warriors out there know that you are not alone in any battle you enter. Every one of us has faced the same foe, and we all have the same ally. Rely not on your own strength, but on the Lord's and victory is assured.

Love is a wonderful amazing experience. Currently Elizabeth, the Godsend that I have been with for the past three and a half years is in Idaho.....what's funny is that my heart literally aches for her. When I think of her, my breath comes short and my heart beats faster, with only the comforting thought that I will see her in three and a half weeks to keep me from losing my mind. Words do her no justice, trust me, I have tried for years to describe her in written word, but it can't be done. She has this amazing heart and soul that captures your entire attention, making the world seem brighter, and life.....perfect....just by knowing her. When I look at her face, admiring the beauty that God painted, and the inner light of Christ that shines from her eyes, it does something to you. Every time I look at her I lose breath, captivated yet soaring, stronger yet vulnerable, and I know the man that I want to be. I know how deep love can go, and how beautiful life can be, just because she is in it. She won't be able to read this until August, due to the camp she is at having no internet, and only one phone, but I want to say: Thank you. Your love has been unconditional, devoted and true: you have had my heart from the moment I saw you that morning in Israel. You are truly my best friend, the woman of my dreams, and vessel of Christ. I thank God for you, and can't wait to see your beautiful face again. 143.

"Every man longs for a battle to fight, a beauty to rescue, and an adventure to live."
